The Burke and Wills Historical Society and the University of Ballarat are pleased to invite submission of abstracts for presentations at its upcoming Conference at the University of Ballarat.

The Conference will take a retrospective look at the 150th anniversary of the Burke and Wills Expedition and we invite students, researchers, members, guests and interested parties to submit abstracts for presentations on any topic relating to Australian exploration history. Presentations can be formal oral presentations, written submissions for future publication or posters, displays or exhibits. Oral presentation can be from 5-20 minutes duration.

We particularly encourage members of the Burke and Wills Historical Society and students at the University of Ballarat to consider taking this opportunity to present their research.

Conference Papers: Call for papers and Posters
As it is anticipated that the Conference proceedings will be published, contributors are invited to submit a short paper (up to 2000 words) and/or abstract (250 words) addressing their research topic.

Contributors are also invited to submit posters for display during the Conference – a prize will be awarded to the best poster as judged by the Conference Chairmen.

Conference Papers (MS Word File and not more than three A4 pages) should be forwarded to reach Professor Ian Clark (I.Clark@ballarat.edu.au) by Monday 2 September 2013. Posters (ideally laminated A1), can be brought and displayed during the morning tea break on Day 1 of the Conference.
